
According to current guidelines, Memorial Hall will resume classes on August 18th under Level 3
Memorial Hall School is hopeful that we will resume on-campus classes and we are preparing to follow health recommendations in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines. We will be following the guidance of our local officials over the next few months to determine the best phase to start our school year in August. We are currently planning to open with Level 3 proactive measures. Should COVID-19 spike we will adjust and shift our classes to the appropriate level.
MHS Operational Plan
- Level 1 – Low-risk concern – low level of concern. Standard procedures and routines for on-campus classes
- Routine cleaning – EPA approved cleaning products
- Students & Staff must be fever free for 48 hours to return to class
- Students and teachers encouraged to get flu shot
- Level 2 – Low to moderate risk concern – Proactive measures:
- Enforcing social distancing along with classroom instruction measures
- Implement face mask usage
- Alternate schedules to reduce large classes and/or gatherings
- Illness/absence monitoring
- Temperature checks
- Doctors note to return to school after an illness
- Implement quarantine procedures
- Additional cleaning
- Level 3 – Moderate to high-risk concern – Proactive measures:
- Enforce same procedures as Level 2
- Minimize communal gatherings
- Blend schedules of in-class and virtual instruction to minimize the number of students in class on campus
- Prepare learning materials for online classes
- Deep cleaning
- Level 4– High risk to extreme concern – No on-campus classes
- All students and staff will be virtual learning
Reducing the Impact Plan: On-Campus Instruction
- Coordinate with local health officials
- Temperature checks upon entering the building and random checks Levels 2 & 3
- Face masks mandatory while in the building
- Enforce 6-ft distancing
- Frequent hand washing
- Increased availability of hand sanitizer
- Bathrooms will be wiped down using EPA approved cleaning supplies frequently
- Classroom surfaces will be wiped down using EPA approved cleaning supplies
- Monitoring illnesses of students and staff
- Require longer recovery/isolation
- Doctor’s note with a confirmed illness
- Develop an academic plan for students to access assignments missed and make-up instructional time
